Mark Thornton
Mark has been involved in the world of social care for fourteen years. His journey into social care began when he paused his IT career to provide some help for his mother. What was to have been a short intervention providing light social support, became dementia support.
His first-hand experience of both how rewarding and challenging providing good care can be lead Mark to open his own care business as a franchisee.
He began his own local care company which he built and grew for six years, then sold for family reasons. A brief absence from the sector served to emphasise to him just how rewarding working in the social care sector is and saw him return to the sector as the Community Relations Manager with Walfinch.
Mark has a passion for supporting people to carry on living independently in their own homes, whether they be our elderly community or other adults, he sees this as an incredibly rewarding role.
