Your local Welwyn & Bishop’s Stortford branch of Walfinch is owned by Managing Director, Ian Thompson.

Ian gained a broad range of business experience and insight during his early career working in the investment banking sector as an equity trader. Twelve years later, Ian was looking for a new and more rewarding challenge and began to look for opportunities in the social care sector which led to him opening our Bishop’s Stortford branch. Ian is committed to continuing the premium service Walfinch is renowned for and supports its ethos, ‘Do as you would be done by’, striving to deliver the same standard of care he would expect for his own family​, to members of his local community.

Ian is originally from the North East and a big fan of Newcastle United but he has settled in Hertfordshire and has a busy family life with his wife, their three young boys and a recently acquired puppy.
